Do you have an hour during the week to help students with reading and math?  Salem has partnered with the St. Louis Public Schools to provide tutors for students.  You do not have to be a mathematician or an author to help young boys and girls become better students.  We welcome anyone who is interested in tutoring!  Individuals must be motivated to help kids.  Volunteers must be 18 years or older, fill out a volunteer application, three volunteer reference forms, and pass a background check.  Please turn your completed forms into Mary Jarvis.

Volunteers spend an hour per week (Monday-Friday) during school hours working with individual students.  One-on-one time allows the tutor to develop a rapport with their students.  Training is provided.   For more information about becoming a tutor or to sign up, please contact Mary Jarvis at (314) 323-6432.  Other volunteer opportunities are also available.  If you are interested in volunteering in other ways at the St. Louis Public Schools, please contact Mary Jarvis.
